I am a photographer and creative director and have over ten years of shooting experience. I’ve shot weddings, lifestyle, food and retail photography, both in a studio setting and on location. I’ve also over ten years experience as a creative director and visual designer, more recently combining my photography skills with creative direction and design.
I love to travel, and photograph in both colour and infrared. They each have their own amazing qualities and I alternate depending on the effect I want to produce. I have photographed Venice, for instance, in full colour to show the amazing vibrancy of the place, the beautiful golden quality of the sun. I have also photographed it in infrared and it creates a much more sinister atmosphere, and this can be great for a city like Venice with such a lot of history in its coffers. Enjoy!
I love the candid portrait, and try to capture the essential nature of the person. I take it as a special quest to capture that essence, which often takes a bit of playful engagement with my subject to have them relax in front of the camera, which isn't the easiest thing in the world to do, as most of us know!
I like both the studio shot, which is more controllable, and those taken 'out in nature' and love to work with natural light. Even if working in the studio, I like to make the lighting as subtle as possible, and use it often to create mood and atmosphere, as well as to highlight certain features of characteristics of the person.
I also like to play around with backgrounds, using a high Renaissance painting as a backdrop is very unusual and usually very flattering. I like to work with children, drawing them out as best I can. It is highly rewarding and a lot of fun!
Boudoir photography for discerning women.
I have shot weddings in Europe & the US, it is special when you have a backdrop like Venice. However, weddings are not my usual fare, but if you're interested in my photography, I would be happy to give you a quote.
Life is all around. Waiting to be captured. Instances pushing themselves forth from the whizz and blur of background ambiance. This is what I love. First to see, then to immortalize a fleeting moment.
I have always loved food photography and the buzz around the kitchen when food is being prepared. My style is clean and contemporary, I like to work with the stylish to combine textures and colours into a pleasing effect. The main thing is that they be appetizing. I come from a graphic design background so I am very conscious of the shapes, colours and textures of food and how they work together. I like to work without flash, when I can, as natural light is the most complementary to food.
